Reddam House Umhlanga is a co-educational independent school with a Christian ethos situated on the outskirts of the bustling Umhlanga Ridge.
We invite you to experience our school and its excellent educational facilities first-hand; to explore our centre of academic, cultural and sporting excellence and meet the dynamic teachers inspiring exceptional learning experiences.
Situated on the edge of rapidly expanding Umhlanga Ridge, Reddam House Umhlanga has an essentially “country” feel. Set in rolling cane fields with modern and spacious facilities, children are allowed to be children, while functioning within the parameters of a robust, diverse curriculum where students are encouraged to achieve their very best.
The campus culture fosters academic, sporting and cultural excellence, underpinned by a strong, supportive, pastoral care system.
The school boasts an open-air amphitheatre, media and audio-visual centre, science laboratory, cutting-edge IT centre, design and technology centre and music, art and drama rooms, smart-boards, air-conditioned classrooms, a heated swimming pool, an international-sized cricket oval, magnificent quads, the Robin Muir School of Music containing 7 music rooms facilitating private lessons, the world-class Robert and Robin Muir Auditorium and playgrounds.
Students are offered a wide selection sports administered by qualified coaches – including water polo, swimming, rugby, hockey, athletics, tennis, netball and cricket.
In January 2018, Reddam House Umhlanga opened the doors of its College Boarding School. Boarding life at Reddam House Umhlanga offers students a wonderful opportunity to immerse themselves in campus culture more fully. It encourages collaboration and fosters camaraderie and companionship. It instils the right kind of discipline, self-care and independence that helps children become fully formed, considerate, forward thinking successful adults. Our boarding facilities are modern, yet are underscored by old-fashioned values that include having good manners – being punctual, respectful of seniors and elders, as well as helpful and clean and tidy. We are very excited to offer this wonderful facility that will both nurture and inspire our students and create a family environment for them away from home.
During the 13 years since its inception, the school has grown rapidly to over 750 students, spread across the Playgroup, Pre-School, Junior and Senior Primary and High School campuses.
In 2013, Umhlanga College opened its high school and currently extends the learning experience to include grades 8, 9, 10 and 11, extending to grade 12 students in 2017.
