OUR SCHOOL

Umhlanga College, an initiative of Durban Girls’ College, was founded in 2003, and under the direction of the Board of Governors and Executive Management, flourished into an extraordinary success story as an independent, co-educational school. In 2013 a High School was added to the Early Learning and Preparatory Schools and Umhlanga College started to take its place alongside other leading independent schools in KwaZulu-Natal. On 1 September 2016, Umhlanga College joined the world-renowned Reddam House group of schools, becoming Reddam House Umhlanga, with the first group of Matric students graduating with a 100% Bachelor’s Degree pass rate in 2017. In 2018 the new state-of-the-art College building was opened on the southern end of the campus with a contemporary and comfortable co-educational College boarding facility opening its doors to the first boarders in 2019.

Set on what was formerly a sugar cane farm called Burnside Estate on the Umhlanga Ridge, the school’s grounds are nestled within a magnificent coastal forest of indigenous trees and surrounded by the rolling green hills of the KwaZulu-Natal North Coast.
